High-voltage engineering is of particular importance concerning a sustainable, efficient and reliable energy supply. The Schering-Institute works continuously and in a forward-looking manner on current challenges in high-voltage technology in close cooperation with industrial partners. There are various research tasks being currently worked on together with students and industrial partners including research areas like the implementation of large power lines and the implementation of e-mobility as well as other fields arising from the turnaround in energy policy and the advancing digitization of the energy network. This enables students of the faculty to become familiar with the new developments and thus be optimally prepared for new areas and opportunities in the energy industry.
