Componenents of High Voltage Transmissions Systems and their Insulating Materials

No. Course Catalog: 35956

This course deals with features of insulating materials used in high-voltage engineering. In addition, a special focus is placed on the manufacturing procedures of polymer insulating materials and the electrical and dielectric behavior of insulating materials under various operating stresses. The course also covers high-voltage switch technology, high-voltage transmission systems and off-shore and on-shore applications.

Description

Students will gain knowledge of:

  • The high voltage switch technology and the high voltage transmission systems
  • Dielectric stresses of the components
  • Off-shore and on-shore applications
  • Insulating materials in high voltage technology
  • Different parameters of insulating materials and are able to analyze them so that an evaluation and a selection of suitable insulating materials can be made for specific tasks
